Accounting Supervisor (3+ years hands on Client experience required)

Bayco Management is a virtual accounting-bookkeeping-tax services firm with Clients throughout the US.

We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our team. They will oversee our accounting staff's daily operations. You will work closely with a team of accountants/bookkeepers/CPA to manage Clients' accounting functions, including timely period close, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations and tax audits. To succeed in this role, you should have a problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our accounting processes and financial reporting to our Clients is accurate and timely.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Client Accounting

  • Oversee complete accounting cycle including: daily transactions for assigned Clients; general ledger, payroll and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing.
  • Manage payroll process.
  • Provide support to tax department for preparation of tax returns.

Supervisory

  • Manage and monitor the daily performance of the accounting staff.
  • Meet all company goals.
  • Oversee the organizing of financial data into usable information and maintain updated records
  • Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with company's targets

Staffing and Training

  • Maintain needed staffing levels by hiring quality candidates.
  • Train all new staff and provide ongoing training for all staff members

Other

  • Meet or exceed all Client expectations.
  • Follow and execute all company systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all industry standards and applicable laws.

Skills

  • Complete accounting cycle experience (required).
  • Proven work experience as an Accounting Supervisor (required).
  • Multi-Client experience (required)
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular.
  • Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • BS degree in Accounting

Additional Requirements:

The right candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years direct Client contact
  • A minimum of 3 years of handling the complete accounting process to include period closing
  • Bachelors in Accounting
  • A minimum of 3 years supervising accounting staff and the entire accounting process.
  • Able to train, hire, and accounting staff.
  • Able to meet and/or exceed all company standards and goals.
